Takeaways from the card

-Overall pretty terrible card.
-Makachev is too good to step in on short notice against
-Volk is a savage for taking this on so short notice. Hopefully he doesn't return too soon.
-usman isn't washed
- I don't think chimaev beats strickland, Izzy, DDP, or Whittaker in a 5 rounder if he doesn't get a first round finish

Its tough seeing Volk get TKO like that, I am a huge Volk fan, Glad he got paid but he shouldnt have taken this fight. When yu take on someone on Islam you need to go through a training camp and make sure your reaction time and everything is on point. He looked kind of slow in this fight. All the respect to Volk though. One of my most fav fighters in MMA overall!!! Huge respect to both Volk and Usman. But people need to put some respect on Islam dude is leggit. I cant wait to see him move up to 170 and challenge Edwards, who I see beating Colby easily.

yeah i agree he did look slow. the kick was good but i thought his reaction time was slow as **** too. How many times have we seen Volk block a fast high kick? Tons of times

I just think volk is too small for a lightweight as big as islam. Couldn’t knee in the clinch because he was too short and the head kick is always there. I think Charles does better in a rematch

That event was weird somehow. That Walker doctor stoppage was a real bummer, Usman did better than I thought he would and that KO by Islam 3 minutes into the first round was insane, I would‘ve never seen that coming. Hope Volk doesn‘t return against a powerhouse like Topuria only three months after such a KO, he really should take a half year off at least to recover.

Yeah agreed that's a bit soon. I think a fighter should take at least 5-6 months after a KO before coming back.

Khamzat had not been active in a long time, He still out grappled Kamaru who has never been out wrestled like that before, I know people are not happy with the dec win. But look at it this way, he just went 3 rounds with a former welterweight goat and got some great positions on him. Great Win for Khamzat, I hope he stays active now. A lot of people were picking Usman to beat him too.

Victor Henry was vomiting and getting a testicular scan after his fight at the hospital, fighting for your entertainment, you were the one who decided to waste your money. Johnny Walker tried to get back into the fight, he even shoved the doctor after his decision and egged Ankalaev on to continue fighting. You're the ***** for kicking fighters while they're down.
